The Art Inside the Book

Every part of Book One opens with a piece of interior art. Four parts, four plates — each one created in black and white first, the way it prints inside the paperback, before it exists anywhere in color.

This one opens Part Two. Those eyes belong to the Kapre — and that's not a threat, that's him keeping watch.
